We’re delighted to announce that planning permission and Listed Building consent have been secured by Native on behalf of the owners, Fitzwilliam (Malton) Estate, for the alterations and new works to allow conversion of 32 Market Place in Malton to offices.
This Grade II listed landmark building, situated in the Market Place in Malton, was originally an imposing Georgian house that became the Ryedale Conservative Club in the early twentieth century, remaining so for around the next one hundred years until becoming vacant about six years ago. Remaining empty it now has a new tenant, a new use, and it retains around 60 jobs in the centre of Malton and keeps this important employer in the town.
The project will commence on site towards the end of 2023 and incorporates a new mezzanine and contemporary stairs to provide connectivity with new facilities in the cellars with a completely new traditional main staircase rising two flights to replace the original that was altered and damaged beyond economic repair in the original conversion to the Conservative Club.
Working with our clients, the building will be upgraded with woodfibre and sheeps wool insulation, lime plaster, air source heat pumps and new double glazed windows to the frontage to restore the elevation back to its original Georgian fenestration.
Native look forward to updating you on this exciting project.
