We are delighted to be working with Ben, filmmaker, photographer and founder of York Creatives on a new project aimed at shining a light on people and places in the creative sector.
York Creatives a grassroot collaborative network of artists, designers, filmmakers, photographers, musicians, performers, poets, writers, producers, curators, crafters and creators was set up in 2016 to encourage the sharing of ideas, contacts and resources between the creative community.
The new project is a result of numerous discussions over the last few years about the lack of suitable studio space in York and whilst there is more that can be done there are many artists and creators making their living in York in all sorts of weird and wonderful spaces that are hidden away from public view. Over the next couple of months Ben will be photographing people and their spaces in creative organisations across York and at the end of the project a book will be released which aims to increase the visibility of the creative sector in York.
We look forward to working with York Creatives and we will let you know when the book is available.
