News / York Gin Gets Green Light

We’re delighted to announce that our client York Gin has just secured planning permission from York City Council to go ahead with their new shop, visitor experience, and an upstairs bar in the Coppergate Centre in York.

The multifaceted visitor attraction will be constructed within the former Boots the Chemist Building and will consist of three floors and a mezzanine.  The ground floor will consist of a shop, selling York Gin and souvenirs, a copper gin still and the visitor gin experience.  The gin experience will take visitors through the incredible history of gin, with the sights, sounds and smells of the gin-making process, ending with a taste of the final product. The mezzanine floor above the shop will be accessible via a central feature staircase that leads up through a void to the bar on the first floor. Another gallery floor above provides extra seating and views across the bar to the ground floor several metres below.

Huge congratulations to York Gin and we look forward to updating you with progress on this exciting new development.
