Project Prospect House, Yorkshire Dales
Owned by a renowned Yorkshire artist the grade II listed Prospect House sits on the edge of the peaceful village green in Arncliffe.
Our brief was to find a way of incorporating a new contemporary studio within the garden of Prospect House whilst ensuring it could not be seen from beyond the garden walls.
The palette of materials is restricted to stone, Oak and glass for the walls and zinc coated steel for the roof.
The remainder of the garden was remodelled as part of the project employing a simple elegant formality that enhances the setting of the studio.
The studio was awarded the York Guild of Building Craftsmanship Award in 2014.
