Ethos Our Approach Our Work Our Clients Collaborations Awards Who we are

Native are committed to engaging with research into Cradle to Cradle sustainable design and construction, locally sourced and produced building materials, and good indoor air quality; this is why we collaborate with likeminded consultants and organisations such as ARUP, LEDA, University of York: Department of Environment and Geography, York College: Department of Construction, Straw Works, and UK Hempcrete.

We are also members of industry bodies that encourage sustainable design and the preservation of old and historic buildings, including:

AECB, The Association for Environment Conscious Building, “a network of individuals, students, educational establishments and companies with a common aim of promoting sustainable building.”

ASBP, The Alliance for Sustainable Building Products, whose members champion the use of sustainable and environmentally positive building materials and construction techniques.

SPAB, Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings “We believe old buildings have a future. From cottages to castles and from churches to cathedrals we are here to help buildings and the people who care for them”

IHBC, Institute of Historic Building Conservation – a professional body for historic environment conservation specialists.

We also support and work with a number of charities in York and Selby which have sustainable aims including:

  • Woodmeadow Trust and their flagship site Three Hagges Woodmeadow.
  • Howden Shire Hall
  • The York Consortium for Conservation and Craftsmanship
  • York Civic Trust, on the implementation of various public realm enhancement projects across the City of York.
